This Privacy Policy explains how Vjam collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal information when you use Vjam on iOS, Android, Web and Desktop, including our websites, apps, jam rooms, realtime audio, chat, cloud projects, recording, upload/import, discovery, paid plans and support features.
1. Controller and Scope
Vjam is operated by V Müzik Teknolojileri Limited Şirketi, referred to in English as V Music Tech Ltd.. Where applicable, V Müzik Teknolojileri Limited Şirketi is the data controller for personal information processed through Vjam. This Privacy Policy applies to Vjam apps, websites, software, accounts, profiles, jam rooms, realtime audio and collaboration features, voice chat, text chat, direct messages, cloud projects, recordings, uploads/imports, exports, discovery/matching, paid plans, subscriptions, support and related services. 2. Privacy Commitments Summary
We do not require phone numbers for account registration at this time. We do not access or upload your device contacts/address book. Live jam and voice sessions are processed in real time but are not automatically recorded by Vjam. Recordings are stored only when a user or group starts a recording through Vjam features. We do not use private audio files, private recordings or private cloud projects to train AI models unless we obtain explicit consent. Users may export supported project/audio content and may delete projects/audio files where supported. Account deletion is available through in-app account settings and can also be requested through support.
3. Information We Collect
3.1. Account and Profile Information
We collect information you provide when you create, manage or use a Vjam account. This may include email address, username, display name, password/authentication data, age or date of birth when required, profile bio, avatar, genre and instrument preferences, account settings and support preferences. We do not currently require phone numbers for account registration.
3.2. User Content
We collect and process content that you upload, create, record, import, send, store, share or publish through Vjam. This may include audio files, stems, samples, loops, beats, vocals, recordings, mixes, exports, cloud projects, project files, presets, profile photos/avatars, images, chat messages, direct messages, collaboration notes, comments and other user-generated content.
3.3. Jam Room, Collaboration and Social Data
We collect information about your use of jam rooms, realtime audio, voice chat, text chat, direct messages, public discovery areas, public/private rooms and invite-only spaces. This may include room identifiers, participant identifiers, invitations, collaborator roles, room settings, public/private status, timestamps, message metadata, session metadata, follow/friend relationships, discovery interactions and moderation/reporting information.
3.4. Audio, Recording, Project and Technical Audio Metadata
When you use audio, recording, upload/import, cloud project or export features, we may collect and process audio files, project metadata, waveform or peak data, duration, BPM/tempo, latency measurements, audio routing information, audio input/output settings, render/export metadata, mixdown data, file format information and technical quality diagnostics.
3.5. Device, Permission and Identifier Information
We collect device and technical information needed to operate and secure Vjam, such as device type, operating system, browser, app version, IP address, language, region, device/app instance identifiers, user ID, push notification token, session identifiers, microphone permission status, camera permission status and audio input/output information.
3.6. Microphone, Camera and Location Permissions
Microphone access is required for realtime audio, voice chat, recording and related audio features. Camera access may be used for video or related features when enabled. Approximate location may be used, with permission where required, for discovery and matching features. You can usually control permissions through your device or browser settings.
3.7. Usage, Analytics, Diagnostics and Performance Data
We collect usage and analytics data, such as features used, sessions, room interactions, project actions, export events, performance events, latency logs, crash reports, error logs, diagnostic information, security logs and abuse-prevention data.
3.8. Payments and Subscription Information
Paid plans and subscriptions may be processed by Apple App Store In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing or Stripe. Vjam does not store full payment card numbers. We may receive payment-related information such as transaction identifiers, receipts, subscription status, plan type, renewal status, refund status, billing country/region, tax information where required and payment provider messages.
3.9. Third-Party Login and Integrated Services
If you use Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In or other integrated services, we may receive information permitted by that service, such as an account identifier, email address, name/display name or authentication token. Your use of third-party services may also be governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
3.10. Support, Legal and Communications Data
If you contact us, report content, submit an IP complaint, request account deletion or data rights, or communicate with support, we collect the information you provide, such as your contact details, account information, message content, attachments, evidence, URLs, complaint details and our responses.
3.11. Cookies and Web Data
On Web/Desktop and our websites, we may use cookies, local storage, pixels, SDKs and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, provide security, measure usage, improve performance, support analytics and, if advertising is active, measure advertising or campaign attribution.
4. How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- to create, authenticate, secure and manage accounts
- to provide jam rooms, realtime audio, voice chat, text chat, direct messages, public/private rooms, discovery, collaboration and social features
- to host, store, process, stream, route, render, normalize, mix down, export, analyze and optimize audio, cloud projects, recordings and uploaded/imported content
- to generate waveforms, peaks, duration data, BPM/tempo, previews, exports and technical audio metadata
- to enable public discovery, matching, friends/follows, invitations, collaboration settings and project sharing
- to process paid plans, subscriptions, trials, refunds, receipts, billing status and access to paid features
- to send service messages, account notices, security alerts, support responses, policy updates and push notifications
- to detect, investigate, prevent and respond to spam, fraud, abuse, harassment, unauthorized recording/sharing, intellectual property complaints, security incidents and violations of our Terms or Community Guidelines
- to measure usage, debug errors, analyze crashes, improve latency, improve performance and develop or improve Vjam features
- to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, enforce our agreements and protect the rights, safety and property of Vjam, users and others.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on one or more of the following bases depending on the context and applicable law:
- contract performance, to provide Vjam and paid services you request
- consent, for optional permissions or features such as microphone, camera, approximate location, certain cookies, marketing, and any future AI model training use of private audio/projects
- legitimate interests, such as securing Vjam, preventing abuse, improving performance, providing analytics, enforcing rules and supporting users
- legal obligations, such as tax, accounting, consumer, platform, data protection, copyright/IP and lawful request obligations
establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims, including disputes, IP complaints, fraud, abuse and safety investigations. Depending on your country or region, you may have rights under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or similar laws. We will handle rights requests according to the laws that apply to you and to Vjam.
6. Audio, Live Voice, Recording and AI
Live jam and voice sessions are processed in real time to transmit audio between participants. Vjam does not automatically record live jam or voice sessions. If a user or group starts a recording, the recording may be stored in the relevant cloud project and processed for playback, editing, export, waveform generation, duration, rendering, mixdown and other technical features. Participants must comply with the Terms of Service, consent requirements and applicable law before recording or sharing live jam/voice sessions. We may perform technical audio analysis, including waveform/peak generation, duration detection, latency diagnostics, BPM/tempo analysis, export, rendering, normalization, mixdown and technical quality processing, to provide and improve audio features. We do not use private audio files, private recordings or private project files to train AI models unless we obtain your explicit consent. If Vjam introduces optional AI features in the future, additional notices, consents or terms may apply. For safety, moderation, abuse prevention and legal compliance, we may review metadata and reported content, and we may preserve or review relevant content where a user report, IP complaint, safety incident, legal request or policy violation requires it.
7. Public Areas, Private Areas and Collaboration Sharing
Vjam includes public discovery areas, public jam/studio spaces and private or invite-only spaces. Information you share in public or discoverable areas may be visible to other users and may be indexed, recommended, reported or moderated within Vjam. Private and invite-only spaces limit access according to feature settings, but participants may still see, hear, access, save, export or share information according to the functionality available to them and their legal obligations. Do not share content in a room or project unless you are comfortable with the relevant participants accessing it. Collaborators may have access to shared project content, recordings, chat, metadata and export features depending on their role and project settings. If you delete your account or content, some shared content, messages, references, logs or collaborator copies may remain where necessary to provide the service to other users, comply with law, handle safety/IP issues, or preserve project integrity.
8. How We Share Information
We may share information in the following ways:
- with other users, when you post, message, join, speak, record, upload, collaborate, follow, invite, publish or otherwise interact through Vjam features
- with collaborators and room participants, according to room/project settings and the actions you take
- with service providers and processors that help us host, store, process, secure, analyze, support, bill and operate Vjam
- with payment providers, app stores and platforms to process purchases, subscriptions, refunds, tax, receipts and entitlement status
- with law enforcement, courts, regulators, government authorities, rights holders or other parties where required by law, legal process, safety concerns, IP complaints or to protect rights and safety
- with professional advisors, auditors, lawyers, insurers and business partners where reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, compliance, security or business purposes
as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets or similar corporate transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality or legal safeguards. We do not sell your personal information for money. If advertising or ads are enabled, we may process advertising data and campaign attribution data according to applicable law, platform rules and your available choices.

These providers may process information in accordance with our instructions, their contracts with us, their own terms or privacy policies, and applicable law. The exact provider list may change as Vjam develops.
10. International Transfers
Vjam and its service providers may process and store information in Türkiye, the European Economic Area, the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, technical and organizational measures, platform safeguards, consent mechanisms or other transfer mechanisms permitted by applicable law.
11. Data Retention, Deletion and Backup Periods
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Vjam, maintain your account, provide cloud projects and collaboration features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect safety, prevent fraud and maintain security. When you delete your account, personal information will be deleted or anonymized from active systems within 30 days, unless we need to retain certain information for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, payment, dispute, accounting or technical reasons. Backups, logs and security records may be retained for up to 90 days before deletion or anonymization, unless a longer period is required for legal, safety, fraud, dispute, security or compliance reasons. Chat messages, projects and audio files may be deleted through available Vjam features. Some records may remain for a limited period for safety, legal, moderation, IP complaint, fraud-prevention, backup or system integrity reasons. Content shared with collaborators, exported by users, or copied outside Vjam may not be fully controllable by Vjam.
12. Your Rights and Controls
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability/export, withdrawal of consent, opt-out of marketing, opt-out of certain advertising uses, and information about how your data is processed. You may exercise data rights by using in-app tools where available or by contacting info@vmusic.tech. We may need to verify your identity and account ownership before responding. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You can also control certain processing through app settings, room/project settings, privacy settings, device permissions, browser settings, push notification settings, subscription settings and platform controls provided by Apple, Google, Stripe or other services.
13. Account Deletion and Data Export
You may delete or deactivate your account through in-app account settings. You may also request support for account deletion by contacting support@vmusic.tech. Deleting the app from your device does not necessarily delete your Vjam account or cancel subscriptions. Users may export supported project and audio content through available Vjam features. Export availability, formats, quality, limits and access may depend on your plan, device, platform, project status and feature availability. If you purchased a subscription through Apple, Google or Stripe, deleting your account or uninstalling the app may not automatically cancel the subscription. You must cancel through the platform or payment provider where you purchased it.
14. Children and Minors
Vjam is not intended for children under 13, and users under 13 may not use Vjam. Users aged 13 to 17 may use Vjam only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information. Parents or legal guardians may contact us if they believe a child has provided information to Vjam in violation of this Privacy Policy.
15. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, such as access controls, authentication, encryption in transit where appropriate, infrastructure security, logging, monitoring, backups and provider safeguards. No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, data loss, service interruption, corruption, security incidents or other events will never occur. You are responsible for securing your account credentials and keeping independent backups of important projects and files.
16. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising
Vjam may use cookies, SDKs, analytics tools and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, security, performance, analytics, crash reporting, product improvement and, if advertising is active, advertising measurement or campaign attribution. Analytics may be provided through Firebase / Google Analytics. Crash reporting may be provided through Firebase Crashlytics. Push notifications may be delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service. If advertising or ads are active, Vjam may process advertising data such as ad interactions, campaign attribution, advertising identifiers where permitted, and related usage data, subject to applicable law, platform rules and user choices. We do not collect your device contacts/address book. We do not collect your general web browsing history or search history as part of Vjam app functionality, although our websites may process normal web logs and cookie-related data.

18. Communications and Push Notifications
We may send account, security, service, policy, subscription, payment, support and operational communications. We may also send push notifications for messages, jam invites, collaboration activity, friend/follow activity, reminders, alerts and product updates, depending on your settings. You may control push notifications through app settings and device settings. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails where required by law, but we may still send necessary service, legal, security or account messages.
19. Third-Party Links and Integrated Services
Vjam may link to or integrate with third-party services, websites, app stores, payment providers, login providers, analytics providers, infrastructure providers and social/music platforms. Those third parties may process your information according to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices except where required by applicable law.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our Services, technology, providers, data practices, platform requirements or legal obligations. If changes are material, we will provide notice where required, such as through the app, website, email or account notification. The updated Privacy Policy will be effective on the date stated in the updated version. Your continued use of Vjam after the effective date means that the updated Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Services.
