How Vjam works

Cloud DAW, realtime jam, and project storage — from invite to recording, with limits and features explained in plain language.

From room to cloud project

Start from a room, bring people and gear into the same session, then keep the idea moving into a cloud project without losing context.

  1. 1

    Create or join

Start a private room or jump into an invitation from your collaborators.

  2. 2

    Set up your rig

Load the tones, tools, and project context you need before the session starts.

  3. 3

    Jam in sync

Play together while the interface keeps transport, people, and state organized.

  4. 4

    Keep it in the cloud

Move from the jam into a cloud project — recordings, chat, and edits stay connected.

Good to know

Limits, features, and billing terms explained in plain language — no plan spreadsheet required.

What is a weighted jam minute?

Jam time is not counted as raw clock time. A 4-person session uses minutes at 1×. Larger sessions consume your monthly allowance faster because more people are connected in realtime.

Pro in plain language

Pro includes 1,000 jam minutes — enough for around 16 hours of standard 4-person jam sessions. Larger sessions use jam time faster.

Cloud recording tiers

Basic covers solo or light takes. Pro adds full group recording in the cloud DAW. Pro Plus unlocks advanced group workflows for heavier sessions.

Gear library limits

Free unlocks a starter amp, cab, and pedal set. Basic expands the library. Pro and Pro Plus include every amp, cab sim, and pedal currently in Vjam — Pro Plus gets new gear first.

Ads on Free

The Free plan includes ads. Any paid plan removes them — upgrade when you want an uninterrupted studio flow.

Voice, video & chat

Every plan includes voice chat, video calls (including group video), and text chat. The main Free vs paid difference here is ads — Free shows them, paid plans do not.

Cloud export / bounce

Monthly export limits apply to rendered bounces from cloud projects — not to jam time or project saves. Heavier mixdown workflows need Pro Plus.

Cloud projects & storage

Cloud projects are your shared DAW workspaces. Storage covers recorded clips, uploads, and project assets — separate from jam minutes.

Collaborators vs jam size

Collaborators are people invited to edit a cloud project. Max jam participants is how many musicians can play together in one realtime session.

Track lock

Lock a track so only you can edit it while others keep working. Useful when one person owns the bass line or lead vocal while the rest arrange.

Clip timestamp comments

Leave feedback on a specific moment in a clip — not just in chat. Available from Pro upward for tighter review workflows.

Version history

Project snapshots let you roll back changes within your plan window — from 7 days on Basic up to 90 days on Pro Plus.

Presence

See who is online in a project or studio — who's in the room, who's editing, and who's ready to jam.

Priority processing

Cloud bounces and heavy project jobs queue faster on Pro Plus. Basic and Pro use normal processing priority.

Admin & roles

Pro and Pro Plus include basic project roles. Invite collaborators with the right level of access without sharing full control.

Billing cycle

Jam minutes, cloud exports, and version windows reset each billing month. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades take effect at the next cycle.

Realtime jam vs cloud DAW

Jam is live, low-latency playing together. The cloud DAW is where recordings, edits, chat, and exports live after the session.

Weighted jam minutes

Session size changes how fast your monthly jam allowance is used. A standard 4-person jam counts at .

  • 2 people 0.5×
  • 3 people 0.75×
  • 4 people
  • 5–6 people 1.7×
  • 7–8 people 2.5×
